The SBM Kit is a specialized product developed by Flinders University with Precise Thick-N INSTANT for the purposes of standardizing the bolus media used for diagnosis of swallowing disorders with high resolution manometry (HRM) and utilizing AIMplot pressure-flow analysis.
The SBM Kit allows clinicians to easily make up 200ml volumes of IDDSI Level 0-4 thickness and provides a uniform electrical conductivity across all thickness levels.

Store in a cool dry place. Do not store in the refrigerator or in direct sunlight.
Product is stable for up to 12 months from date of manufacture.
All prepared beverages should be consumed within 4 hours at room temperature or within 24 hours if refrigerated.

For diagnostic challenge, it is important to vary the thickness of test boluses, however differences in the conductivity between bolus consistencies influences the impedance recordings, confusing their interpretation.

For video-HRM studies
The SBM Kit can also be used to make up liquid barium preparations for video-HRM studies. Although, as the thickness and radio-opacity of liquid barium preparations can vary, we would recommend you undertake you own evaluations to verify the optimal texture for the liquid barium you are currently using.
